Welcome to the Fully Expressed podcast with Karenna.
0:02
I am your podcast host, Karenna Soto and I’m so happy that you’re listening in today.
0:07
This podcast is truly meant to be an invitation into your fullest expression.
0:12
We have all the different kinds of conversations that invite you into living a life, fully expressed, the finding and creating relationships where you feel fully expressed and, and creating a business and career where you feel fully expressed on today’s episode.
0:31
We have the third and final live interview from the podcast launch party with some of my dearest friends.
0:41
They call themselves the healing couple.
0:43
Their names are Jess and Cory and they truly brought the fire to the room and really, you know, really ended the panel discussion at the live podcast party just so perfectly.
0:59
You’re going to just feel their energy come through the interview.
1:03
They are great storytellers.
1:05
They have so much to share when it comes to business entrepreneurship, spirituality, what it looks like to have a spiritual practice.
1:13
And in this specific episode, I really dove into what is it look like to be in a relationship with your partner and do business with your partner because they are together, they’ve been together, they started the business together.
1:27
And so they went into the real nitty gritty of what that looks like and also what has been truly super supportive as they communicated through their evolution in their business, the transitions in their business, the hard conversations in their business and just truly tackling that together as a couple.
1:43
So, so excited for you to listen in and here you go.
1:48
So our last interview today, but saving some of the juiciest for the last two, this is just and Cory, they call themselves the healing couple.
1:58
So when I first moved to San Diego, almost like 4.5, 5 years ago, just before I decided to move, I actually experienced my first breathwork ever with Rob Starr.
2:09
I don’t know if anyone knows who that is.
2:10
I don’t even know if he’s really practicing breathwork anymore.
2:13
Cut it on and off story short, I was thinking about becoming a coach.
2:16
So I ended up meeting this NFL.
2:18
I became a coach and I walked into Rob Starr’s breathwork with this like six spy man that I just met that day, but I walked into breathwork for the first time and it completely blew my mind.
2:29
I was going through a breakup at the time and I literally told myself all I want to do is breathe.
2:34
And then I got invited to Rob’s breathwork, but then I walked away from that being like, I need to do breathwork more.
2:40
I need to be doing breathwork every single day.
2:42
And so, but I was still healing a lot from that breakup and I was just finding myself in San Diego who I wanted to be finding my people kind of thing.
2:51
I asked Rob.
2:52
I was like, do you know anyone that does what you do in San Diego?
2:56
And they’re like, yeah, actually I do, you got to meet the healing couple and that’s how I met Justin Cory.
3:01
I started going to their breathwork sessions which completely helps me release emotions, cry, scream, meet every part of me in every single way and it completely transforms me.
3:13
And after going to your guys’ session, I did invite them to.
3:18
We did a, we partnered up on some my programs that I did online for a long time.
3:23
So they would come in and do breath work for the women that were in my communities.
3:26
And then in the last year, I feel like we’ve really been able to hold to be a very deep friendship, which I’m so excited to explore.
3:34
These two are fun as fuck.
3:36
I love them so much like you come to any housewarming with them where you’re in the room with them and we’re playing games, you know, we’re committed and it was just so fun.
3:48
So I love them.
3:50
I’m gonna let you guys introduce yourselves and thank you for being here.
3:53
Well, thanks for having us.
3:54
I love that.
3:55
I don’t know if everyone’s ever told me that.
3:56
I’m funny as fuck.
3:57
But I’ll take it.
3:59
I’m Jess and many people do know me as one half of a healing couple.
4:03
I’m a yoga teacher.
4:04
I’ve been a coach for a number of years.
4:06
My background was in like marketing, social media, digital media and worked at Stanford University, like all this stuff.
4:13
Every time that I would lead breathwork, lead yoga, I was like, there’s something here like this is what I’m, this is what I’m meant to do.
4:22
And I’m really meant to help other people and share the tools that have helped me heal so massively through, through anxiety and all, all kinds of things that I’ve moved through and I want to help other people and I want to share these tools with people because I can’t just keep that to myself.
4:37
And so when I, when I met Cory, I was on a journey through yoga teacher training.
4:42
He like yoga is the thing that I’m gonna do.
4:44
Like I’m, that’s what I’m gonna, that’s what I’m really sure to do.
4:46
But it got me actually to go much deeper with breath work.
4:50
And, and so you were, you know, connecting and started dating like I was really just sharing so much with you about the power of, of she was sharing some funny shit.
5:00
So she was like, I met my Eagle spirit animal and then was flying to the sky, by the way, I’m a physician and I have like a medical background.
5:09
I’m like, is this bitch crazy, crazy bitch, I date her.
5:12
I’m not sure.
5:14
So it’s true.
5:15
Yeah, so so many crazy visions we’re doing long distance like you know, talking at night and he’s like what he’s like, are you sure like it’s just rap like are you was there anything else by missing something?
5:25
This sounds like my Iowa good journey and you know, the Amazon and I was like, no, I swear it’s just breathing.
5:31
He’s like, oh, ok.
5:32
So I really, very early on in our relationship, we just dove so deep with broth and it allowed us to connect on a whole another level.
5:41
And so I’d love to get, yeah, pass it to you to really speak to what that was like for you as a physician having that more medical mind of like, ok, there’s something here and what’s, what’s Yeah.
5:52
Yeah.
5:52
Yeah.
5:52
Yeah.
5:52
I think we’ve all kind of been in a relationship like with that, right?
5:55
Where the other person is saying stuff and you’re like, oh, I’m not so sure you look really good but not so sure.
6:01
That wasn’t the case.
6:02
You still, you look really good baby D Board Certified Family Practice.
6:07
Did a lot of stuff.
6:08
You guys and they got the poster child for trying many, many things over and over again in different ways.
6:15
Yes.
6:16
Until you really figure out what you want to do.
6:17
And this is my life work, which is broth work, but it started out with being a physician, not feeling fully satisfied with that.
6:24
Even though I was doing naturopathic work, natural work, natural medicine.
6:28
And my good friend was a psychiatrist out of UCL A.
6:32
And he was doing really great work in Atos Peru.
6:35
If you guys are familiar, it’s a great area for plant medicine journeys, particularly ayahuasca.
6:41
So fresh off the boat, I go down there.
6:45
Never did weed, drank a little bit like super squeaky clean and then I did a month of ayahuasca.
6:51
I wouldn’t anything about twa I originally got shit out the other side of the Amazon.
6:58
I found out about this last week and at the Rochelle and Clinton’s housewarming party you’ve done 20 A Oscar ceremonies about Yeah.
7:05
Give or take something like that.
7:06
Yeah.
7:07
Oh Is that something you forgot about?
7:09
But what I’ve learned about you and what to say to that like you do things and you do things all the way.
7:15
Like you give it your all, you experience the whole thing and I think I’m, that’s a lot of what breathwork is too, right?
7:20
Like if you do show up to breathwork and you give it your all, you experience all that’s available for you in those breathwork sessions.
7:26
Right.
7:27
Right.
7:27
So, I mean, fast forward like it really did change my life, like physically, emotionally, spiritually.
7:33
Like I became a different person to the point where my fiance left me and my business partners asked me to leave.
7:38
Like my whole life felt like it was falling apart when I realize now is that I was actually falling away.
7:44
And so I met Jessica at one of the lowest moments in my life where I had maybe $1000 in my bank account.
7:52
Yeah, I mean, pretty much I felt like everyone was mad at me and I felt like I had no friends and I was five beers in, at restaurant because Jessica’s notoriously late.
8:02
I love you, baby.
8:03
But you’re still kind of late for things.
8:05
It’s projector thing.
8:06
Sorry.
8:08
But I got 55 beers.
8:10
Now you’re back and, and she walks and you guys are probably thinking like, oh, is she gonna be beautiful?
8:14
And then there’s this light behind you and you’re gonna know I didn’t even recognize her for like the 1st 45 minutes.
8:21
I was like, oh, you’re here.
8:22
Who are you?
8:24
And long story short, we ended up going to another, another location and I started to really notice something which is Jessica listens like she really listens.
8:35
And so if you’re looking for partnership, like real deep partnership going deep, shut up and listen, because that’s what, that’s what got me interested in her was actually, it was like, oh, wait a second, I’ve been talking for such a long time.
8:50
Like, what about you?
8:51
And I think that’s really where it started.
8:53
So, yeah, so beautiful.
8:55
I go all in.
8:56
Yeah, I love it.
8:57
Well, the reason why I wanted you guys to come on here is one you guys are in.
9:00
You guys do relationship and do business together.
9:04
I want to hear a little bit of what that has been like, right?
9:08
Like you guys, like, you know, like you guys are in the room with each other.
9:12
You guys spend a lot of time with each other from what I know.
9:14
Like you guys take all of your client calls together, you guys do your meetings together, you guys run this business together.
9:19
So I’m so curious of what that actually looks like and what has helped you guys kind of navigate that together because when you’re doing your business, right?
9:27
Like there’s a way that you see things in a certain way, you want things a certain way you’re looking at your vision.
9:32
And so how do you guys get align on that?
9:34
But how do you guys just all the sauce that comes in that?
9:37
Ok.
9:38
OK.
9:39
So speaking of like the reps, right?
9:41
Like it took a lot, a lot of reps.
9:44
We started our business in 2018, not knowing we were starting a business.
9:49
It wasn’t just like, hey, babe, I had this business idea.
9:51
You want to go in on this like let’s start an LLC like it wasn’t like that.
9:54
It just happened very organically where we did our first breath work workshop in February of 2018.
10:01
And it was, it was a packed house and it was, it was such a beautiful transformational experience for people.
10:07
You were coming up to us after of like, oh my gosh, like when’s your next workshop?
10:11
I need to tell my sister, I need to bring my best friend.
10:13
Like I need to tell everybody about this and we had no plans for another workshop.
10:17
Like we were just like one and done like, like we just wanted to just share our hearts and just share the tools that helped us.
10:22
And so when we left that workshop, we, we drove back home to our little beach bungalow in ocean beach and we were sitting in the driveway like talking for like an hour.
10:30
Is anybody ever like just like love a good, like car chat?
10:33
You know, you’re just like, how are we still in the car?
10:34
OK.
10:35
We were gonna get out.
10:35
Oh, we’re still in the car.
10:37
So it was one of those and there was a moment where time slowed down and I turned to Cory.
10:44
It was emotional every time that I say this.
10:45
But I turned to him and I was like, babe, we have to keep doing this and I didn’t know what this was.
10:51
I didn’t know what it was going to look like.
10:53
I didn’t know it was going to turn into a multiple six figure business.
10:55
I know we’d be traveling the world.
10:56
I didn’t know that we would have a teacher training and certification program and teach other people to share about.
11:02
I didn’t know any of this, but I knew that we had to do it together.
11:06
That’s all I knew that, you know, we have to come together in our hearts and we have something special here and it would be a disservice to the world if we didn’t explore this in the very least, at least try right now.
11:20
That sounds all romantic and sexy and wonderful and passionate.
11:24
And then it gets down to, then we get down to business, right?
11:26
And then there’s like real, like problems to solve and ideas, we have the ideas that we don’t agree on and like, then can get a little messy and, and I think really just to paint the picture of like a to b what it was like years ago was just, we were just figuring things out and we were basically constantly having meetings all day long and like constantly just, you know, and there wasn’t a whole lot of space and then we would, you know, every marketing email, we would be doing the email together and I’m like, this is crazy, like we have to divide and conquer.
11:56
And so it’s really gotten to this point where we were so enmeshed, really thinking like, oh for the healing couple, we’ve got to do it all together and it’s like, no, actually we’re two human beings that have our own strengths and our own gifts.
12:09
And like when we learn human design is everybody familiar with our human design.
12:12
That’s it.
12:13
If you’re not like, check out human design, go to like my body graph.com and check out what your human design is.
12:17
But yeah, mom, dad, it’ll change your life.
12:19
No, right now do it.
12:21
But it’s, I’ve been trying to get you to do that was the time, but it really has you understand who you are and your energy, how you best make decisions, how you best interact with people.
12:29
And so learning that early on in our business really helped to be like, oh wait a minute.
12:33
Like we are two very different people.
12:35
We understand each other and we can leverage our strengths, leverage how we are different and actually work together as a team.
12:42
Like that’s when we really need to share what you’re design is and what are your strengths as your human designs and how you guys work together?
12:50
Yeah.
12:50
Yeah.
12:51
So a generator.
12:52
I don’t know.
12:53
What’s my tribe again?
12:54
You’re a s sacro generator.
12:56
So the biggest thing that I learned from human design, I’m not an expert, but my biggest thing is I can do a lot.
13:02
Raise a hand who, who, who are like, I can just do a shit ton if you give me a list.
13:05
Checklist.
13:06
Yep.
13:06
Done.
13:07
Yeah.
13:07
Mom.
13:07
OK.
13:07
Mom, mom can get a lot done.
13:09
Look at the face so you can get a lot done.
13:12
But the issue is with generators is sometimes you can chew, chew down the wrong track.
13:18
And for those of you that raise your hand, you probably know what I’m talking about where you’re like, I feel so accomplished after weeks of working on a project or doing this thing.
13:25
And then you realize you’re like 10 miles from where you need to be.
13:28
That was my life.
13:30
And why, you know, when in the beginning, when I was sharing like, you know, I’m the poster child for like trying so many different things and then finally getting, yeah, that was my life because I was a generator.
13:38
And so the greatest gift that Jessica gave me was as a projector.
13:42
What projectors are really good at?
13:43
And I’m probably gonna botch this.
13:44
So if you guys are like human design experts, like talk bad about me later.
13:48
But what I really understand about projectors is they’re like the editors of life.
13:54
So they take something that has already been created, right?
13:57
And then they make it better and then they can see where that thing needs to go in the context of all things.
14:03
And so the great part about our relationship is finally, I felt like I was doing things and I’m like, oh, I did that and that worked because Jessica like cinched it up or edited it.
14:13
So like, you know, when you see our content or what we do is like, I usually start it, Jessica finishes it.
14:18
And so if you’re planning on getting in business with your, like significant other.
14:23
Bravo, like shit, Bravo, it’s like, not for the faint of heart, but what I will recommend is really sit down with that partner and decide and figure out what are your strengths.
14:37
And I know you’re like, ok, I’ve heard this before but like, really understand your strengths and understand what you’re good at.
14:42
That’s different than what they’re good at so that you can leverage them otherwise you’re gonna just be butting head the entire time.
14:49
Yeah.
14:49
So that’s what I would say.
14:50
Yeah.
14:51
So cool.
14:51
So something that we had talked about was honesty and we just talked about this a little bit before the panel and I would love to see how have you guys learned to be honest with each other in relationship and in business however you want to talk to it.
15:08
But also what has been fully honest created for you done for you gifted you created opportunities for.
15:16
I love this question.
15:18
I think what honesty has really created is so much flow for us because we are in relationship and we are in business and if we don’t have honesty, everything is, I mean, shit’s gonna hit the fan, you know, it’s, I mean, it just gets really, really muddy and so it’s, we have to get honest with each other.
15:36
And I think that, I mean, I just learned that through trial and error of, like, maybe not being honest to each other or especially for me, I can see for myself, like, kind of holding, holding back.
15:44
Yeah, like holding back my truth because I’m afraid of what Cory might think or what Cory might say.
15:48
So I’ll just kind of go along with it and you can only do that to a certain extent until you reach a point where you’re like, this isn’t working anymore.
15:55
And so it’s really just opened up our ability to also create more, right?
16:00
Because if we keep butting heads, if we’re not being really honest and we’re shutting down or whatever, it’s like we’re stalling out and been there many times before where we were just getting in our own way.
16:11
And we just, and even when that comes up from time to time, even it came up like this last week, we’re like, we’re just getting in our own way, like no one else can hold us back from how successful we want to be except for us, like we’re the only ones standing our way.
16:24
I think it was for all of us, we are the only one that’s truly standing in our way.
16:27
And we, we want to point to other people.
16:29
We want to make excuses, we want to point to other situations or circumstances or our past for why.
16:33
But at the end of the day it’s us.
16:35
And so, coming back to honesty, it was also being honest with that of like, wait a minute, we’re sabotaging ourselves.
16:43
So let’s face whatever is here.
16:46
So we can actually move forward and work as a team.
16:48
Honesty has brought us together as a team.
16:51
And I’ve never felt more on the same page and more as like a team together than I do right now.
16:56
And, I’d like to say something like, so who was single here if you don’t mind raising your hand?
17:02
OK, who was in a relationship?
17:03
That’s like half and half?
17:05
That’s awesome.
17:06
So, along the lines of this whole conversation around honesty, I think there’s two things which is you need to set aside unsexy time, unsexy time.
17:16
One of the unsexy things that we’ve done that has created more honesty in our relationship is every single day.
17:22
You don’t have to be as crazy as us.
17:23
But every single day we spend 30 minutes doing what we call is a power down session like a power down session.
17:29
So in that session, there are certain things that we talk about because how many of you raise of hands if they had conversations at the wrong time with your partner, everyone, everyone come on, everybody.
17:40
And I realized that it’s not necessarily the conversation that you’re having, that’s creating the issue, it’s the timing of it and the availability of your partner.
17:49
And that breaks down honesty because when you’re having that conversation at the wrong time, your partner doesn’t want to hear it.
17:54
Do you think they’re gonna be honest?
17:56
Fuck.
17:56
No.
17:57
And do you think they’re gonna be ready to receive it?
17:59
No.
18:00
So do, do, do yourself a favor because me and Jessica went through years of that having conversations at the wrong time in the wrong scenarios and then it just spills and then it feeds and then it becomes this like entity, right?
18:14
I think mom’s really getting it back to you.
18:17
You do you want, we have a PDF?
18:19
I promise it’s really easy.
18:21
Oh Peruvian thing.
18:21
OK.
18:22
I love it.
18:23
I love the synergy but, but yeah, do the unsexy thing.
18:27
And what’s great about that is then both of, you know, whether it’s every night or maybe it’s once a week or once a month, you’re having that conversation, you’re like shit.
18:35
We’ve been here before this is happening.
18:37
We’re both in our trigger spots.
18:39
You get the opportunity now to be like, hey, I think this would be a great conversation for the power down.
18:44
I think this would be greater conversation for X time and it’s get, hey, it’s not gonna be easy.
18:48
You may still have a li a little bit of a ba, a little bit of a fight, but like the more that you do it, your partner will acquiesce with that and it’ll change your life.
18:57
Yeah, I feel that Nick and I did something similar when we first started dating for what the whole first year of our relationship thing we had every single Sunday, we did basically relationship overview.
19:08
We talked all about the hard stuff we talked about the things that we want to look for.
19:11
In the week, we made sure we are aligned on our vision.
19:14
We set specific time aside to like really dive into the details because I think what can happen in relationship is that you want to have those conversations, right?
19:24
But there’s so much fluff that comes with wanting to have that conversation.
19:26
Like you can’t really just throw it out and be like, hey, I really want to talk about this right now and it’s like, well, it’s right now plus could be an hour, +23 hours of that conversation that comes with that specific topic.
19:39
And I love that you shared that because that has been super helpful for Nick and I, when we first started our first year relationship, we haven’t done them recently, but we do that and it was, yeah, it would be great to redo it.
19:50
But yeah, that’s really nice.
19:51
I love that advice.
19:53
Is there anything else that you guys want to share that has been such a valuable asset to caring you guys towards the success that you guys are growing at?
20:02
Well, the first thing that pops up, I just want to add to what you’re saying as far as having those, we call them weekly family meetings.
20:08
And we, we don’t have kids yet.
20:11
But, you know, as we continue to grow our families is that we want to be, you know, consistent.
20:15
So every single Sunday 4 p.m. no matter what, we’re coming together for a family meeting, and we check in on eight different areas of life and they include spiritual, mental intimacy, business, a couple of different other, you know, other areas.
20:29
And what we do is separately, we go through each of those areas and we write down what’s our goal, our one intention in each of those areas for that week, for ourselves.
20:38
And then we’re done, we come together and then we share those.
20:41
So we go, go through one by one.
20:42
And what that does is allows each of us to be heard and witnessed or whatever it is that we’re moving through.
20:48
We, we also reflect on the previous week too.
20:50
So we rate it.
20:51
What’s our level of satisfaction in each of those areas from the previous week?
20:54
So I can really get tapped in to know.
20:56
OK, I know where Cory’s at.
20:59
Right.
20:59
And then I can also see like, is there any areas that you want support with?
21:02
And this goes back to what you were sharing earlier.
21:04
Like, you know, sometimes we just want to be seen as we do want to be held, we want supported and actually like work through.
21:10
Yeah.
21:10
Right.
21:11
So this is a beautiful invitation.
21:12
To really check in on those things.
21:13
Do you want to be supporting in that?
21:14
Do you like, do you need accountability from me on that you just want to be seen in it?
21:19
And then we can also, when we share what our goals are within each of those areas, like we can cheer each other on, you know, it’s like, OK, I love that you’re doing it.
21:26
I love that you’re focused on that.
21:27
And like that, I can keep those things at top of mind for me.
21:29
And that has us play the same team too, in relationship and in business, like really looking at all of it, I want to add to like this can sound like a lot of structure to bring into a relationship.
21:41
It can sound like it’s a lot.
21:42
But, you know, at the same time, what I’ve seen in my life is just really finding that beautiful balance of structure and flow.
21:49
It’s like, really, and that’s how relationships in the container.
21:52
Like when I’ve experienced that in my own relationship, like having the structure to be able to hold that has given us an opportunity to flow so freely, even more fluidity and really being held in the masculine in that way and bringing that into the relationship.
22:06
And so I just love that you guys have created that don’t shy away from structure.
22:12
And I, that’s like me speaking.
22:14
Yeah, I’m speaking to myself five years ago.
22:17
Yes, because we kind, I just had to still ourselves down.
22:20
It’s like Cory is like this giant tree.
22:22
Like he’s so rooted.
22:23
He’s so rounded.
22:24
He’s, yes, he’s consistent.
22:27
Yeah, that’s, but, you know, he’s going to be there and that’s what really drew me to him was like, he was so consistent on like any other man I’d ever met.
22:36
And I was like, ok, I know no matter what happens or what not.
22:40
Like he’s going to still be standing there for me, he’s going to stand for himself.
22:43
He’s going to stand for the relationship and then he, then for me, I’m a little bit more of like a tweety bird is what he calls me.
22:49
Like, I’m a little bird and I love to like, I love to float around.
22:52
I love to like, really see the big vision.
22:54
I love to look down and kind of see how everything’s working together and da da, da da and just flow and be free and then to come back to the tree where I’m like, ok, perch on the tree, you know, perch on a little branch and then OK, bye.
23:04
I just like, you know, I was playing in magic land and then I’m like, hey, babe, guess what happened?
23:08
He’s like, how did you manifest that?
23:10
I’m like, we’re here and he’s like, OK, cool.
23:12
Let’s bring some structure to it, right?
23:14
And, and structure really scared me in the beginning of like, oh, that feels constraining.
23:19
That feels like I don’t like that I want to be able to do whatever I want whenever I want.
23:25
But I realized that my life wasn’t working when I was doing that.
23:27
And so the structure I don’t shy away from that anymore because I know that it’s actually going to create the container for the freedom that I desire.
23:35
So I just, I hope that that lands for someone because I know that that was something that I really need to hear years ago.
23:41
Yeah.
23:41
Tweety birds tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet.
23:43
Yeah.
23:44
All right.
23:45
Raise your hand.
23:46
If you are thinking about 2024 or you’re starting to set goals, you’re starting to review the year, you’re starting to see what you really want next year.
23:53
And I find this year.
23:55
So this time of the year so interesting because I’ve definitely been the one that was like, I have to set my goals every single end of the year.
24:03
I’m gonna get on track with my workouts and I’m going to do this and I’m going to do that and I put so much pressure on myself and then come basically the second week of January, everything would fall to the cracks and you know what I have found to be my secret sauce to truly manifesting and embodying what I want to manifest is not, is truly in reflecting on the last couple year on the last year.
24:25
It is setting intentions.
24:27
So I’m not a big fan of goal setting.
24:28
That’s a for a whole different conversation.
24:30
Goals lead to expectations, expectations lead to disappointment and that ends up leaving a lot of pressure on ourselves.
24:36
So I am here for intentions.
24:38
I love the structure of intentions.
24:39
I love how it sets us up.
24:40
But there has to be a feeling that you want to feel in 2024.
24:45
And that’s truly what I love to lean into.
24:48
And it has changed the game for me every single year, every year, I am constantly embodying and taking steps towards the woman that I want to become.
24:58
I am attracting opportunities that are so in line for me, I’m also evolving and looks like for me to live a life full express in my career in my personal life and so on, just by getting really curious and clear on what I want to feel like, you know, what do I want to, who do I want to feel like when for all the things I want to manifest?
25:20
Absolute game changer, I will do a podcast episode on this.
25:24
But what I am currently offering you right now as we transition from 2023 into 2024 this is going to be available all of December and all of January.
25:36
I am gonna be offering a 30 minute strategy sessions for individuals.
25:42
So if you’re looking to strategize and get really clear on what you want 2024 to look like, feel like be like the sessions for you.
25:50
It’s gonna be for $88 and I’m also offering couple sessions.
25:55
So really the opportunity for you as individuals to get really aligned on what your own desires are.
26:02
But what does that look like in partnership?
26:03
What does it look like to the actual relationship?
26:06
And that is gonna be a 16 minute session available for $222.
26:11
So 222 and you can dm me at I am Kenna Soto and ask me more details about it that is only going to be available for December and January.
26:25
So if you are interested on getting support, please message me, I’m really not offering coaching containers anymore.
26:32
And I got so much feedback on how many people are gonna be really offering.
26:37
I’m missing my container.
26:38
So this is such a rare experience and I wanted to let you know about it.
26:41
So please please please send me ad m if you’re interested and we can talk through it.
26:46
So dropping you back into the episode and enjoy.
26:50
Do you guys want to hear a story real quick?
26:51
I promise we got like one minute, I’ll give you two you’re taking.
26:57
All right.
26:58
So you guys know I’m a doc I about seven years ago opened up a really big clinic, big space, lots of employees, lots of you guys need to know is just a ton of stress, ton of stress and I was doing everything in my power to please other people in my life.
27:14
And we had a grand opening for this, you know, very similar, like, big event like you and I hadn’t expect anybody to show up.
27:22
How funny is that?
27:22
Like, think about my mindset and my belief system, but about 200 people showed up and then things got really crazy because then the local news showed up in Scottsdale.
27:31
And I was like, OK, this is kind of interesting.
27:33
Then the mayor showed up and then he had the obnoxious big gold scissors.
27:37
Do you know what I’m talking about?
27:37
Like those big silly ones with the ribbon.
27:40
So imagine me here, white coat, two other people, Jessica, we just maybe saw each other once or twice and you came out.
27:47
And so all these people in my life, my parents there like, you know, the ribbon, the scissors and I’m like, this is my moment.
27:53
This is my pal work so hard for this scrub floors for this and time slowed down.
27:59
Kind of like what Jessica was talking about and this voice came through and it said you’re living someone else’s life.
28:06
And in the moment this peak experience that I thought I was gonna have for myself was actually one of the lowest.
28:11
It was crazy because like everyone was so happy for me, but I was so low and I realized kind of talking about human design.
28:19
I had gone along and chew chewed to like, appease my parents, appease my friends, appease my family, appease my business partners, just going along, going along, going along.
28:28
And now I had reached this moment where I should be celebrating and it was my help.
28:32
And so I really was just like, having a moment with myself.
28:36
And I remember thinking, gosh, if I’ve chew chewed all this way and this is for you guys.
28:40
I want to listen, I want you to listen based upon like if you’re looking for a partner or a deeper relationship because this really changed my life because it was like, goddamn like, what the fuck like this is supposed to be great.
28:51
What, what do I do?
28:53
I was so lost and I was like, OK, so if I’ve chew chewed all this way for years and years of years getting medical degree and all this stuff and all this money, da da da, da, da da.
29:01
I’ve made choices that have gotten me to that point.
29:04
Yes.
29:05
Would you guys agree?
29:05
Yeah.
29:06
So if I made those choices as a sovereign human being, the only way for me to get back home to myself, to a place where I can celebrate myself where I can feel happy.
29:16
I got a surge is making opposite choices, period.
29:19
End of statement, opposite choices.
29:21
So think about that for yourself because when you make a big choice like that, guess what?
29:25
The universe I got 30 seconds, the universe it hits you over the head, hits you over the head with a two by four, doesn’t it?
29:32
Like when you make a really big choice then all this stuff happens, right?
29:36
And so I told you, my business partner asked me to leave.
29:38
Well, what funny, funny enough business partners.
29:41
Long story short said some shit to Jessica in front of my family created this whole fight.
29:46
My dad came up to me.
29:47
He’s like, do you know what your business partner said to Jessica?
29:49
This bullshit.
29:50
My dad never says that stuff and all this stuff started happening and then we went to an after party, ended up going back to our place and me and Jessica just met like maybe a couple of dates and all of a sudden we’re sitting at the end of the bed and we’re in a big fight.
30:03
I’m like, what the fuck?
30:05
Like a big fight.
30:06
And I’m like, I know where this goes.
30:07
You know what I mean?
30:08
You can tell you’re like, I know where this goes.
30:10
I’m too good for this or I’ve had enough of this or whatever, you’re ready to be done, right?
30:14
I don’t have that much invested in this relationship.
30:16
And then I remembered, oh yeah, I made a promise to myself to make start making opposite choices.
30:22
So if the old version of me in this moment would have dumped Jessica, I’m gonna choose the opposite just because.
30:28
So mid fight, imagine mid fight at the end of the bed, we’re going at it and I just turned to her and go.
30:33
Do you wanna be my girlfriend?
30:34
You showed a sag and the love of her on the shock was an understatement.
30:40
And so honestly, that’s how our relationship really started, how we became committed to each other was over a fight in me making opposite choices.
30:48
So if there’s anything that you remember from what we said, really think about that when you are up against it in a relationship or in a conversation and there could be a moment of fork in the road.
30:58
Maybe it’s time for you to make an opposite choice.
31:01
Yeah.
31:01
So good.
31:02
So good.
31:03
I’ll say I did the similar thing, but I just leaned into everything I did not want to do.
31:08
So like the most uncomfortable thing in every single moment I decided to do.
31:12
Well, what’s the thing I would do right now?
31:14
And what’s the thing I don’t want to do?
31:15
I’m going to do that.
31:16
And that has been my north star, my entire healing journey over the last four years and has brought me to what I really actually want because a lot of the times it was the scary parts of me, the parts of me that didn’t want to be with that decision, but that was a decision that I needed.
31:32
So, thank you so much for closing with that.
31:33
Thank you so much.
31:34
For such a beautiful conversation and I’ll give you both a hug.
31:38
Thank you.
31:40
Wow.
31:41

31:44

More About Karenna

I know how debilitating it can feel to be stuck on the perpetual hamster wheel of a life that you don’t enjoy living. Sure, externally you’ve got it all together, but internally, it likely feels like you’re questioning E V E R Y T H I N G.

Can you relate?

It was when I felt disconnect with what I was doing, and with how I was showing up in my life that I realized the answers lied in how I was doing what I was doing that I decided I no longer wanted to keep living within the box of what I was told to be and decided to boldly express myself and stand for what truly mattered to me.

I have seen the power of fully expressing myself in my personal and professional life. Now I want to bring it to the masses, which is why I’ve created this podcast.

This podcast is my invitation to all people struggling to be fully expressed in life, relationships, and business. It’s for those who are wanting to feel A L I V E, connected, and in love with their life, relationships, and business.
